2010 California Shohin Society Seminar

shohinconvention

This little gem was lifted from BUNJINJOURNAL.COM. It’s from the 2010 California Shohin Society Seminar in Santa Nella. They one every other year and the quality of trees just keeps getting better. I’m alreay thinking about arranging my schedule so I can go next time.

Pirates
At least one blog has been pirating our posts, lock stock and barrel; but without our links and without any attribution to bonsai bark, or Stone Lantern. If you are reading this on any website or blog that is not ours, and is not attributed to us, then it has been pirated. Please visit us at bonsaibark.com. Thank you.

Clicking the bunjinjournal.com link results in “Error 404 – Not Found.”

    Beautiful trees,
    Shame on you pirates!

    Wayne ~

Thank you so much for the links to my site, and for attributing proper credit. I received a Google alert that these pictures appeared on a pirate site WITHOUT any credit, I believe stolen from your site. We may have to start labeling over images to protect them, like clip art samples, although it is a shame for everyone else because it detracts so much from the bonsai.

In the spirit of giving proper credit, the juniper in the photo above is the work of artist Jim Gremel (www.jimgremel.com), and the juniper below was created by Ian Price (www.lonepinegardens.com).

    Best,
    Michelle Dougherty

Thanks Michelle and you are welcome!
Yeah, it’s too bad about the pirates. Some sites (bonsai cafe for one) are labeling over images, but I agree, it’s a solution that creates another problem. I’ve been imbedding messages about pirating in my blogs lately, though I’m on a beach somewhere in Mexico with dial up so haven’t really had a chance to check to see how it’s working.
Thanks also for the info on Jim and Ian. I think they are both neighbors of yours, at least roughly. It seems to be a good area for bonsai.
    Cheers!
