When I bumped the magnification on this image, a mass of live or live-appearing vein is visible center front up toward right, also upper left folding around the edge of the shari work —- so it seems to me the original bark has been retained,. whether living or dead can’t be sure. Yeah – these bark surfaces are very light, almost cream color — but so is the visible live trunk under the canopy.
That trunk with that pot is very cool, not least because I didn’t immediately realize how ornate the pot was. Made my day to see this one – thank you ;)

I wonder if Harry will do something to enhance the color on the live vein. Couldn’t help but improve the tree to see it stand out a bit.
