We haven’t forgotten our other contest
Though we haven’t done anything about it yet (I’m still traveling), we have received several entries to our $100 Bonsai Art Contest. We’ll start posting entries when we get back next week. Meanwhile, don’t be shy; send us your entry.
A wild guess:
This is a Pinus ponderosa (or Pinus densiflora) by Walter Pall.
Another wild guess:
Scots Pine by Nick Lenz
salvatore liporace, scotts pine
Salvatore Liporace, Scots Pine (Pinus sylvestris).
Just in case you need the pines latin name.
You can see an earlier pic of this tree on mr. Liporace’s old website: http://www.liporace.it/english/pag02.htm , in the top-right corner.
Regards,
Ferry
Thanks Ferry.
Now for the follow up question: where did the photo I posted come from?
The art of bonsai forum???
Nice try, but no.
Bonsai magazine(BCI)?
Bonsai Europe or Focus?
Nope.
Nope, warm but not not warm enough.
Hi Kevin,
Almost forgot. You are the winner. When you order on our website (stonelantern.com) just put in the comments that you identified the Liprace pine and that you should receive a $25 discount. Or, you can email Corey at contact@stonelantern.com with you order and she’ll take care of it.
Thanks! Where is the image from? I remember seeing it in an image where a snake was crawling up the trunk!
Snake? The image is from issue 85 of Bonsai Today. No snake though.
