Stable and wild all at once. This tree has to be one of the most perfect and powerful bonsai around. The highly refined look of its massive crown, combined with its huge, wild nebari and trunk (twin trunks actually) and its almost static sense of stability, make for a mesmerizing bonsai.

David and Hendro
Thank you and so far so good, though neither of you has identified the photographer.
Photographer of Min Hsuan Lo’s exquisite Ficus microcarpa is Budi Sulistyo.
Wayne, I have no idea who the photographer would be. I know you’ve displayed this before, but I can’t remember his name. Darn!! ;-)
David,
Looks you we’ve got a winner (you)! Hendro almost had it, but no photographer.
email me for instructions for your gift certificate: wayne@stonelantern.com
Delores,
I sympathize. Sometimes it’s a wonder I can remember my name.
Good Morning Wayne,
As a consequence of the devastating earthquake in Japan, I respectfully decline your generous offer of a gift certificate. If you wish, and on behalf of Bonsai Bark, you may consider
sending a donation to the Red Cross for Japan’s Disaster Relief Efforts.
Thank you,
David
David,
Thank you. We will take your suggestion and send a donation to the Red Cross for relief efforts.
This tree is does Not belong nor was created by Lo Min Hsuan. This was created by Mr. Liu, a founding member of the Taiwan Bonsai Creators.
Mr. Wayne,
I tried to post a true statement by saying the true owner and artist if this tree. I meant no disrespect.
Jose Luis
Thanks Jose,
Interesting. Now we have people saying very different things. I guess we are going to have to do some more research.
No problem Jose. Thank you.
Great research!
Actually, this King Men Ficus [ H 83 cm] belong to Mr. Liu Pong Yung. This pics probably take in 10th ASPAC. Mr. Liu was the past bonsai president of Taoyen county.
This tree was publish in “2009 The 14th Haw-Fong ( Taiwan Kokufu) National Bonsai Exhibition ,page 35.”
Jose is right. Congratulation.
Min Hsuan Lo Greeting from Taiwan
Thank you Min Hsuan Lo
Okay, I think you and Jose have cleared things up. I, like some others, was under the impression that the tree is yours. So my apologies for any confusion, and especially my apologies to David for mistakenly declaring him the winner.
I think the easiest way to resolve this and to move on, is to declare you and Jose co-winners of our contest. You are each awarded $25 gift certificates. If you would like to redeem yours, just email me at wayne@stonelantern.com for instructions.
BTW: I am very impressed by what is going on with Taiwanese bonsai. Photos of very impressive bonsai from Taiwan are showing up everywhere.
Wayne,
Mr. Lo and I have agreed that, given the recent events that have transpired in Japan, we both will donate our share to the Japan Relief Fund.
Warm Regards,
Jose Luis
