Contest #2: Nature’s Bonsai – part 2 5/15/09

jpalmer-jun

The Japanese have long known that the best bonsai come from the wild (that’s why that are hardly any left in Japan). Time and the elements combined with Mother Nature’s completely unselfconscious (you could say natural) way of doing things is hard to beat.

Keep reading to see how you can win a $25.00 gift certificate and for a little hint.

Our last contest featured a wild gem, so why not do it again? Tell me where this photo was taken. The person (friends and family of the photographer excluded) who comes closest to the exact location will win a $25.00 gift certificate to Stone Lantern. The contest ends next Friday, May 22nd.

When the contest is over, I’ll let you know who the photographer is, and where you can see some of her (or his) other images.

Hint: I’m guessing that tree in question is a J. scopulorum, or some close cousin.

  1. Hi, I’ll give it a try. I think it is in Canyonlands NP, near Mesa Arch, looking SE. Thanks

  2. I suspect Canyonlands is the correct but since that has already been guessed I will go with Arches National Park…It could also be Zion NP.
Thanks for sharing the cool pic!
